Scholarships
Applications may be picked up in the Guidance Office or online.
The Iowa Financial Aid Application for the 2012-13 academic year is now available on the IHaveaPlanIowa.gov web portal. The Iowa Financial Aid Application combines applications for six undergraduate student financial aid programs into one application process. Collectively, these programs provided over $7 million in funding for students in 2010-11 academic year. Students can apply for the following programs through the Iowa Financial Aid Application process:
- All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship (AIOS)
- Iowa National Guard Education Assistance Program (NGEAP)
- All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant (FCG)
- Education Training Voucher(ETV)
- Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
- Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship
To complete the application, go to IHaveaPlanIowa.gov, create or sign in to your account, and click on the blue Iowa Financial Aid Application banner. (This is separate from FAFSA)
FAFSA
- Complete the FAFSA to be considered for need-based state and federal financial aid.
- The2012-13FAFSAcanbe completed beginning January 1, 2012 at www.fafsa.gov.

RICK TIBBOTT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
- To honor his love of music and teaching, the family of Rick Tibbott will present a scholarship in the amount of $250 to a member of the current graduating class.
- Applicants should be:
- Currently participating in music at Starmont
- Planning to enter into a career in teaching or related field, preferably music education. In case there are no applicants entering the field of teaching, this scholarship may be given to any graduate who is entering the field of social work, counseling, or any field which would assist children of young adults.
- Planning to attend a two or four-year school
- Of good moral character
- Application is available in the guidance office
- Deadline is May 1. Turn into the guidance office
STARMONT EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
- In support of excellence in education, the SEA will present a scholarship in the amount of $200 to a member of the current graduating class
- The recipient shall be a student who is preparing for a career in education
- Financial need as evidenced by general information from the Starmont guidance counselor
- Enrolled in a two or four year program leading to a teaching degree
- Rank academically in the upper one-third of the graduating class
- Lesser considerations to be student's committment to goals, qualities of leadership and cooperation, and other scholarships received
- Applications available in the guidance office
- Deadline is on or before May 1st. Turn into the guidance office
STARMONT MUSIC ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
- Recipients shall be a student from Starmont High School who will continue their education at a post-secondary educational institution
- The educational program which the student has been accepted into must be at least nine months in length
- The following factors shall be considered:
- Extra-curricular school involvement in music
- Community involvement and activities in music
- Such other factors as the selection committee determines to be representative of the standards and ideals promoted by the Starmont Music Association
- Applications are available in the guidance office
- Deadline is on or before May 1st. Turn into the guidance office
STARMONT MUSIC ASSOCIATION AND FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP (FOR ART)
- Recipients shall be a student from Starmont High School who will continue their education at a post-secondary educational institution
- The educational program which the student has been accepted into must be at least nine months in length
- The following factors shall be considered:
- Extra-curricular school involvement in art
- Community involvement and activities in art
- Such other factors as the selection committee determines to be representative of the standards and ideals promoted by the Starmont Music Association and Fine Arts
- Applications will be distributed through the guidance office
- Deadline is on or before May 1st. Turn into the guidance office
STARMONT MUSIC ASSOCIATION AND FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP (THEATER)
- Recipients shall be a student from Starmont High School who will continue their education at a post-secondary educational institution

Scholarship by Design Award
To be eligible for the Scholarship by Design Award a student must:
- Be currently attending school as a high school senior or as an undergraduate student
- Be a resident of either Canada or the United States
- Be currently attending school on a full-time basis

Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship
Scholarships of $400 are available for seniors who meet the following requirements: of Protestant faith, an Iowa resident, and attending the University of Iowa as a full-time student. The application is available in the guidance office. Deadline for this application is May 3, 2013.
Legacy Financial Group 2013 Scholarship
Legacy Financial Group is pleased to announce that we will be offering a $1,000 scholarship in 2013. The student must be entering their freshman or sophomore year at an Iowa accredited educational institution in the fall of 2013. Robert D. Blue Scholarship
The Robert D. Blue scholarhsip is made possible by the Iowa Centennial Memorial Foundation. Any Iowa student who plans to attend an Iowa College or Univeristy is eligible for this award. Applicants are expected to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship and display moral force of character. Applications are availble online at www.rdblue.org. Deadline is May 10, 2013
Buchanan County Pork Producers
Buchanan County Pork Producers are offering a $500 scholarship. Application is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline is June 1, 2013
